Holiday Team Dinner at Macaroni

It’s that time of year when we gather with our friends and family to share some holiday spirit.  Since we are so far from home, we may not be with our immediate families, but we do have quite a big family right here in Krasnodar, Russia.  Home is where you make it and this year Russia is home and LOKO is our basketball family.

This year Lokomotiv Kuban hosted a team holiday party at the restaurant Macaroni in Krasnodar.  Holiday parties are my absolute favorite!  The drinks are flowing and endless amounts of food is being brought to the table for me to eat.  C’mon, who doesn’t love that?  It was so nice to see all the guys dressed up from their usual attire, sweatpants and hoodies.  I really love that the team organizes events to bring everyone together.  It was great to see everyone kick back, relax, and mingle for a couple hours without having to worry about the stresses of practice, treatment, games, or in my case, what I was going to cook for dinner.

The Russian tradition of smashing a pumpkin.
The pumpkin didn’t break that easily, haha.
Everyone was dealt a card and whoever had the two winning cards were named Mr. and Mrs. Loko. Oh, and that is our General Manager’s cute little daughter 🙂

Cheers to continuing a great season! Some of the staff pictured with American player, Mardy Collins.
We may not have won Mr. and Mrs. Loko this year, but we couldn’t have asked for a better night. Happy Holidays from the soon to be Joneses!
