We’re Going LOKO: Krasnodar, Russia

It’s that time of year…new season, new city.  Kevin signed with Lokomotiv Kuban in Krasnodar, Russia. Last year Lokomotiv made it to the Euroleague Final Four, thus making it a great opportunity for Kevin to become part of a great organization.  Even though the original coach had left for Barcelona, the new coach was ready to take Kevin on as a player.

After a great start to preseason, reality set in. A new coach meant a new system was being implemented. For those of you who don’t know how this works, it can make or break a season for a player if that player doesn’t fit in their system. Unfortunately, this was Kevin’s first time experiencing this type of situation. Soon enough, despite a few losses, the coach was released and Kevin was able to remain on the team.

A breathe of fresh air swept over loko basket when they signed the 2nd coach of the season. Thank goodness! It was a rough few months. The team is winning again and playing so well together.  Everyone seems to be in better spirits and ready to take on the remainder of the season.  We are happy to be in Russia and ready to experience the culture, making great memories along the way.
